Master of Broken Glass

Glass is a simple victim near combat and those who learn to use its devastating edges can gain an advantage in combat. No one becomes a master of broken glass without first suffering its effects. It is often some traumatic experience with glass that inspires the pursuit of this mastery.

Beginning masters of broken glass are sure to have, and gain, a few scars but later they learn to handle glass safely and rarely ever cut themselves. Masters of glass tend to be tradesmen, making a living working with glass. Some who are in disguise perform other crafting skills such as masonry or carpentry in addition to working with glass.

Masters of glass are usually monks who living in big cities. They are rarely away from areas where glass is plentiful. When the do travel afar, they bring glass with them.

Glass Weapons: Glass weapons are assumed to be taken from recently broken glass, a window or plate. Any time the wield fumbles, he breaks the weapon and take takes the base damage from the glass and must perform a Heal check DC 10 on his hand before he can wield a weapon with that hand again.

Each time you score a hit with a glass weapon, it takes one point of damage. If it breaks, is reduced to zero hit points, the wound bleeds, dealing 1 point of damage each round until the someone takes a move action to remove the glass.

Larger glass objects, such as broken glass statues, may have more then 1 hit point an, thus, can be used to attack several times before breaking. Some spells can increase the hardness of materials, preventing the glass from breaking at all.

*For the listed cost the glass weapon can be specially prepared. Fumbles only break the weapon and do not cause damage.

Unarmed Damage (Ex): The master of broken glass adds his level to any levels in monk to determine his unarmed damage (see the Monk’s unarmed damage in the Player’s Handbook).

Handle Glass (Ex): At 3rd level, the master of broken glass gains damage reduction 5 against glass only.

Ice Will Do (EW): At 4th level, the master of broken glass can substitute ice for glass.

Throw Glass (Ex): At 5th level, the master of broken glass can throw any glass weapon with a range increment of 10 feet.

Powdered Fist (Ex): At 6th level, the master of broken glass learns how to safely coat gloves with glass to use as a weapon. This does not change the amount of damage his unarmed strike deals, but it becomes slashing and he can benefit from weapon specialization (glass).

Spray Glass (Ex): At 7th level, the master of broken glass can hurl crushed glass. He must have a clear line of sight with the target(s). Any cover or concealment blocks this attack (so he can not attack targets behind other people). The attack is treated as a range attack with a medium glass weapon.

As a standard action he can attack one person within 30 feet. If the attack misses, or if he attacks the square, the 5 foot square the target is in is littered with glass. This acts exactly as if the area were covered in caltrops.

Weapon Specialization (Ex): At 8th level and above, the master of broken glass can spend a feat to gain weapons specialization in glass. If he does, he deals 2 additional points of damage, as per Weapon Specialization, but with any kind of glass weapon he is using. The weapon takes 2 points of damage instead of 1, if it hits.

Glass Cape (Ex): At 9th level, the master of broken glass can coat a cape in glass shards. Anyone attacking him using unarmed or natural attacks, takes 1 point of slashing damage each time they hit. Further the master of broken glass can swing the cape as a weapon that deals the same damage as a medium glass weapon.

Whirlwind Glass (Ex): At 10th level, as a full round action the master of broken glass can attack everyone within 5 ft. either with a glass weapon or sprayed glass.
